Grandma Swank's Recipe Box $21.95
This is a book of recipes from my grandmother, Frances Swank's, recipe box. This box contained her favorite recipes collected during her 88 years.

Wherever possible I have put down the source of the recipes. Shirlie Jantz has the original recipe box.

Everyone who knew Grandma Swank well knew what a great cook she was. Typing up this book brings back many wonderful memories of smells and tastes coming from her kitchen. Typing up this recipe box has been an attempt to preserve a part of the heritage of generations and the skills, the wisdom, the history and a lifestyle that might otherwise be lost permanently. I have tried to follow the instructions from the contributors to Grandma's recipe box as closely as they wrote them on their cards.

Following are some equivalent abbreviations:

t or teasp. or tsp. = teaspoon
T. or Tbsp. or Tbspn. = Tablespoon
c or C. = cup pkg. = package

Many of these recipes were given by friends, relatives, Royal Neighbor Lodge Members, and a few clipped from newspapers or magazines. The contributors I was able to identify are Kathryn B., Charlie, Daily World, Dorothy Dean, Donna Dingman, Edith, Edna, Inez Edwards, Elsie, Gladys Evans, Marcia Gruber ,Beth Hill, Mary Lavin, Mrs. Maryott, Mert, C.L. Nelson, Inez Olin, Shirley Olin (S.O. 61),Edith Peterson, Mrs. J. C. Peterson of Waterville, Alice Poirer, Grace Pullin.
